Unfortunately, when it comes to making money from home, there are far more scammers out there than legitimate individuals who truly want to help. And unfortunately again, the legit teachers are usually the ones people avoid, because they don’t promise all the flash and get rich quick bling the scammers promise.
Affiliate marketing will not make you rich by next week. Like all other legitimate businesses, it takes some work, a learning curve, and some effort. But “fast” is in the eye of the beholder. After signing up with Wealthy Affiliate and going through their marketer training program, I was able to quit my full-time job within the first year. I knew nothing about how to develop a website and didn’t even know affiliate marketing existed. But, you’ll notice their mascot is the tortoise. They do not teach people how to get rich quick, rather, they teach people how to build a real business online. That’s how I knew it was legit. And I was right.

What VALUE Are You Providing To Others?
In order to truly make an honest and sustainable living as an affiliate marketer (or any other industry for that matter), you must provide value to others. If you’re getting paid without really providing value to anyone, someone along the way probably feels cheated. This is no way to run a business and even if you do make money this way, you probably won’t feel very good about it (unless you have really low ethical standards, then by all means).
The point is, in order for people to pull out their wallet and hand you money, you must provide some value FIRST, not later. So, if an affiliate marketer training program tells you how to make money fast and without having to do anything or provide value to anyone, run. Run for your life!

People Will Not Build Your Business For You
One of the new affiliate marketing scams I’ve seen is the “we’ll do everything for you” approach. It’s just unbelievable that so many people buy into this.
Would you spend your time and effort building businesses for other people? The reality is, most sane individuals do not build other peoples businesses for them. So, if someone promises to build your website for you, provide content for you, give you free marketing videos, or send you thousands of free visitors to your free affiliate marketing website, chances are you are either being scammed right at that moment or the scammer is setting you up for one. Even when intentions are good, there is usually a catch.
