If you’ve been researching how to legitimately make money online, you’ve probably heard a lot about affiliate internet marketing programs. Unfortunately, what you’ve probably heard are lies.
You may have heard about some guy that made millions of dollars in a few months affiliate marketing or maybe a story about someone who went from living on the streets to earning $20,000 in his or her first month. Baloney.
Am I telling you these things are impossible? Well, no. It’s not impossible to win the lottery, either, but just because you buy 1,000 lottery tickets doesn’t mean you’ll come out ahead. It doesn’t matter how many people became millionaires by winning the lottery, the fact is, the odds are stacked way against you. This is also true with making money through an affiliate internet marketing program.

Let’s Get Real About Affiliate Internet Marketing
As someone who has been earning a full time living as an affiliate marketer for many years now, I can tell you for certain that you really CAN make money online. But there’s a catch. Internet affiliate marketing is a legitimate business. This isn’t some get rich quick system, there’s no software program that will earn money for you, and anyone who promises to show you how to earn 5 figures in your first month is simply scamming you in order to sell some low quality e-book or “training program.”
There is GOOD news, however!
I personally was able to quit my full time job as an over the road truck driver in less than 1 year through affiliate internet marketing. Was it easy? Nope! Did it take some work, effort, and an enormous learning curve? Yup! Is is doable and repeatable by just about anyone? Absolutely!
How To REALLY Make Money With Affiliate Internet Marketing Programs
Before you can expect to earn any profits with your affiliate internet marketing business, you must provide VALUE to someone else, FIRST! If someone is paying you without you providing any value in exchange, you are no better than any of the other rip-off artists or those who spam the web through cheap YouTube videos, blog comment spam, or email spam.
The real question is, how can you provide value to others in order to justify getting paid?
There are many ways you can do this. If you’ve got a pile of cash laying around, you can create paid advertising campaigns. As long as your revenue exceeds your expenses, you profit. Unfortunately, this method usually doesn’t work for beginners for two reasons. One, most new affiliate marketers don’t have piles of cash laying around to spend on advertising. Two, creating a successful paid advertising campaign is extremely difficult. If you can figure out how to break even before losing thousands of dollars, you’re doing VERY well.
So, let’s explore the more realistic option to provide value to others what how I personally earn a full-time living through affiliate internet marketing.
Become An Infopreneur
I personally believe becoming an infopreneur is the single best way for new affiliate marketers to earn a substantial living online. You can see that I practice what I preach, too. Just take a look at any of my other websites (in addition to this one) and you’ll see that all I do is provide FREE info to people. Here are some examples:
Those are all websites that I personally grew from the ground up. Notice something interesting? I don’t actually sell anything at all. So how could I possibly earn a full-time income from those website? Well, that’s something I get into during this training corse. But in short, by providing high quality and free information for people, I receive a ton of free and highly targeted traffic from search engine, at which point I’m able to advertise for my affiliate partners. Even if only 1% or 2% of my free website visitors makes a purchase through on of my affiliate partners, I’m doing pretty well. This is in addition to the display advertising I have which earns me additional revenues.
Creating Information Takes Time
In order to be a successful affiliate marketer by using the infopreneur model, you have to learn a few things. It’s not as difficult as you might imagine, especially if you sign up for this awesome marketing course, but here is what you’ll need to do:
- Learn how to develop a website (no computer code needed these days).
- Find out which industry is in demand but with little competition.
- Learn how to properly write and construct web pages that will attract free search engine traffic.
- Find out how to get those free visitors to come back to your site over and over again.
- Determine the best way to advertise affiliate products on your website that leads to sales (and thus, commissions for you!)
This is just a short list and realistically, the learning curve will NEVER stop as an affiliate marketer. This is a fast changing industry and you always need to stay one step ahead of everyone else.
The most time consuming aspect of being an infopreneur is creating content. That’s why you should always choose an industry you love. You’ll notice most of my websites are related to animals, because that is a passion of mine. As such, spending the time creating content for those websites is more like play… not work.
How Long Will It Take To Start Seeing Revenue Come In?
I wrote an entire article about this, but I generally tell people to wait it out for 6 to 12 months before you start seeing any revenue. Most of this really depends on YOU. Some people are able to learn quicker than others, but the main thing is how quickly you can create kick-butt content for your site. The more content you write, the more likely you will begin ranking in the search engines. Just notice that my websites have 100’s of pages of content and I continually add more. How long will it take you to write 100 to 200 pages of content? That’s about how long it will take.

I don’t care what type of experience you have or if you’ve never built a single website before. You CAN do this.
