Congratulations on finding this page! Most people researching affiliate marketing do not even research the affiliate marketing business model, so you are already one step ahead of most people.
The affiliate marketing business model is pretty simple to understand, but a bit harder to put into practice. If you haven’t seen my video about affiliate marketing on this page, you should definitely go check that out.
Basically, you (the affiliate marketer) will advertise other people’s products or services. Your advertisements will be tracked by using special links, unique phone numbers, or contact forms that can be traced back to you. When your advertisement generates a sale, you get a percentage commission on the sale as a reward.
That’s it! The affiliate marketing business model is actually very simple! Putting that simple business model into practice, however, can be a bit of a challenge.
How Do Affiliate Marketers Advertise Other People’s Products & Services?
The precise affiliate marketing business model can be done in a number of ways. You can purchase advertising either online or off, you can write an e-book and have affiliate links strategically placed in your book, you can utilize YouTube or other video broadcasting services to pitch products and services, you can use email marketing and even market to people offline. The number of ways to advertise products and services is nearly infinite, especially if you have a large budget to work with.
Most successful affiliate marketers, however, do not have a large number of funds available so they tend to develop a website and use their website as the main advertising source for their business. Starting a website is very cheap (or even free), you don’t need to know any computer code, and it will attract FREE visitors that can be turned into paying customers relatively easily. This is the affiliate marketing business model that most people start with.
This is also the affiliate marketing business model that I teach in my affiliate marketing e-course. In just one week, I will help you develop your own affiliate marketing business plan and set up your own WordPress website, all by following my simple step-by-step written and video instructions.
Provide Enough Value To Others And Get Paid For It
The best way to sell other people’s products and services is to provide value to others. Make sure this is built into your affiliate marketing business model. For example, I own the website DogFoodInsider.com. On that website, I teach people about dog nutrition and more importantly, how to choose a high quality dog food for their beloved dog. You’ll also notice on that website I also recommend people purchase their dog food from Amazon.com. Not only is it cheaper, but they have a wide selection to choose from and they don’t have to lug 30lb bags of dog food home from the store.
If they click on an Amazon.com link, then make a purchase (no matter what they buy), I receive a 5% to 9% commission on each sale I generate. So, let’s take a step back and see how everyone benefits here…
My website visitors benefit, because I am giving them unbiased and high quality information that they were searching for which also helps them choose a healthy food for their dog.
Amazon.com benefits because I am helping to drive sales to their website (most dog owners haven’t considered purchasing dog food through Amazon). Plus, they only need to pay me when I actually generate a sale for them. It is no risk for them.
And finally, I benefit because Amazon shares a cut of their profits with me for helping to send paying customers their way.
It’s a total win-win-win situation! That’s an affiliate marketing business model I can live with!
What Do You Already Know And Love?
The good news is, you don’t have to be an expert on dog food to put together a quality affiliate marketing business model and you certainly don’t have to partner with a large corporation like Amazon. Heck, I could partner with a locally owned holistic dog food store and help them increase their profits by several hundred percent by shipping products nationwide. It’s up to you!
The main thing is, you can make money from nearly any topic you can dream up. Everyone knows something about something. So make sure your affiliate marketing business model is developed around a topic you love.
Maybe you have a hobby you’d like to earn money from, such as RC airplanes, playing an instrument, star gazing or teaching people how to develop a better golf swing? Or maybe you’d rather teach people a professional skill such as how to invest in the stock market, become an actor or actress, start a self-storage company or how to create a kick-butt resume that will “WOW” any employer.
The number of topics you can start a website about are almost unlimited.
You DO have a skill, knowledge, or passion that other people want to learn (yes YOU!). As insignificant as your skill may seem, it can make you money and it can be the center of your affiliate marketing business model. So, what are you good at?
Are you really good at arts and crafts, such as making specialty cakes? Do you know how to throw an awesome party for kids? Or maybe you want to teach English to those who only speak Spanish but want to learn?
In this affiliate marketing e-course, I help you figure out which skill, passion, or knowledge you already have that can earn you a ton of money. I highly recommend you sign up for it now if you haven’t already. Everybody knows something about something, so let me help you figure out what that is and how to make money from it.
The More Your Affiliate Marketing Business Model Helps Others, The More You Will Earn
The more people you are able to help, the more money you will make in return. It really is that simple. Sure, many other “guru’s” out there will tell you about ways to make money on auto-pilot using super-secret systems or software programs that do all the work for you. But unless you are truly providing value to other people, you will never make a good living long-term in affiliate marketing.
Affiliate Marketing Is BUSINESS
When you get started in setting up your affiliate marketing business model, keep in mind you’re not just developing a website. You’re growing a business, so treat it as such! The vast majority of successful businesses in the world began with a solid business plan. Affiliate marketing is no different. If you don’t have a quality and profitable affiliate marketing business model planned out ahead of time, you will probably never succeed.
