Many people researching how to make money online discover the amazing world of affiliate marketing. Once I learned it really is possible to earn a full-time living online, I had to figure out how to do it myself. Nothing was going to stop me. I didn’t care how long it would take. The problem is, there were so many training courses and guides online and being the newbiest of newbs, I had absolutely no idea who I could trust or what course to sign up for.
Pretty much by complete chance, I stumbled onto a training program offered at Wealthy Affiliate. After watching the video tour of their service, I knew that’s who I wanted to sign up for.
The reason being, they were an “all-in-one” package and I couldn’t have been more pleased. What resonated with me the most is how they were up front about get rich quick strategies being a scam. I wanted a long-term business – not the trick of the week. Very few affiliate marketing guides actually say up front that they will not make you rich quick. They did, and that really resonated with me. It set them apart from the rest.
In addition, everything I needed was in one place. I didn’t have to learn how to register a domain name, because they offered a tool that would do that for me. I didn’t have to set up web hosting and learn how to operate a web server, they’d do that for me too (heck, I didn’t even know what a web server was at the time). I didn’t have to learn computer code, because they offered their own simple website builder (just upgraded last year to a drag and drop system).
But more importantly, they promised to teach me how to develop a following and gain thousands of free search engine visitors to my website every single day AND how to MONETIZE that traffic. That they did. In less than 1 year, I quit my job as a full time truck driver to focus on my online business.

Beware Of The “Experts” And “Guru’s” Affiliate Marketing Guides
There are definitely some really awesome affiliate marketing experts and guru’s out there. For example, Pat Flynn from SmartPassiveIncome.com is one of the best guys out there. He ranks up there at the top. Not only is he transparent as heck (he even shares his income reports every month), but he practices what he preaches. What he preaches is business. Not some get rich quick system or computer software that will do all the work for you.
That said, I sadly must report that most affiliate marketing “experts” are nothing but frauds. They make money selling “systems” that promise to earn you an income by doing almost nothing at all. I’m really sorry, but that doesn’t exist. I’ve been at this for many years and have spent thousands of dollars going through many of these scammy get rich quick programs. None of them have worked.
Besides, if you knew of some system that could earn you an unlimited income from home doing almost nothing, would you tell everyone else how to do that in a $9 ebook or even a $1,000 video training series? Probably not. Unless a $9 ebook or $1,0000 training series could earn you more money than the system you are trying to teach. That’s why guys like Pat and I only practice what we teach.
To Be Successful, You Must Provide Value To Others
If you aren’t providing value to others, quite frankly, you don’t deserve to earn an awesome living. That doesn’t mean you can’t. Heck, plenty of people make money by ripping off others, running scams, spamming the internet, or even outright stealing. If you have any ethical standards or a sense of pride, you will RUN from those “opportunities”.
I’ll also tell you this… If you plan on making money without providing value to others, it’s not going to be a long-term sustainable business. Sooner or later, it’ll catch up to you. Maybe you’ll see some initial success, but it won’t last. The odds are stacked way against you.
So, when searching for a legitimate affiliate marketing guide, find a training program that will teach you not just how to make money, but actually HELP PEOPLE!
